Is Audio Simple a hearing aid?
No. It is a sound amplification app for clearer conversations. Audio Simple is not a medical device and not a hearing aid. Does Audio Simple send my audio to the cloud?
No. Audio Simple processes sound entirely on your iPhone, in real time. The app has no servers, needs no account, contains no tracking and works in Airplane Mode. What the microphone hears is not uploaded, not shared and not used to train anything. Your conversations never leave your phone.
What do I need to use Audio Simple?
You need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and wired earbuds, such as Apple EarPods with a USB-C, Lightning or headphone-jack plug. Plug them in, open Audio Simple and tap Start listening. The iPhone's own microphone does the listening, so place the phone close to the people you want to hear.
Why does Audio Simple use wired earbuds instead of Bluetooth?
Wired earbuds deliver sound instantly. Bluetooth earbuds add a delay, often a tenth of a second or more, so the voice from the app arrives after the same voice reaches you through the air, like an echo. Wired earbuds keep the two in step, so speech through Audio Simple sounds natural.
Will my own voice sound too loud?
No. Audio Simple keeps voices within a comfortable listening range. Quiet or distant voices are lifted up to that range, and loud, close voices, including your own, are held back at its top. A friend across the table and your own voice arrive at a similar, comfortable level.

Audio Simple starts with a 3-day free trial, then $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year. Payment goes through your Apple ID. You can cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings under Subscriptions, and if you cancel before the free trial ends, you are not charged.
