Getting started

1. Plug wired earbuds into your iPhone.
2. Open Audio Simple and tap Start listening.
3. Place the phone close to the people you want to hear, for example in the middle of the table.
4. Use Louder and Quieter, or the phone's side buttons, to set the volume.

Common questions

• Start listening is greyed out. The app needs wired earbuds. Check the plug, or try another adapter.
• I hear nothing. Allow microphone access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, then turn the volume up.
• I hear whistling. Sound from the earbuds is reaching the phone's microphone. Lower the volume or move the phone further from your ears.
• Voices sound sharp or too strong. Choose a milder speech boost in Settings.
• Why not Bluetooth? Bluetooth earbuds add a delay that makes voices sound like an echo. Wired earbuds keep speech in step.

Subscription

Audio Simple starts with a 3-day free trial, then costs $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling before the trial ends means you are not charged. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
